Okay time for my guilty pleasure. Grilled peanut butter sandwich. As a kid I never liked grilled cheese sandwiches but my mom came up with these for me. I nice ooey gooey peanut butter with a crisp buttery crust. I know a lot of us grew up on grilled cheese and tomato soup, but I grew up on grilled peanut butter and chicken noodle soup. The pairing of the sweet peanut butter and salty chicken noodle is the perfect match up for me.
This is sweet and simple 3 ingredient sandwich, bread butter and peanut butter.
I spread the peanut butter on one slice of bread and sandwich them together. The butter the outside of each side, and to borrow a phrase from the Sandwich King himself, Jeff Mauro, crust to crust is a must.
Place in a nonstick frying pan over medium high heat for only a couple of minutes on each side to get that nice toasted golden brown on the outside and melt the peanut butter inside.
Do yourself a favor and give the sandwich a minute to cool down once you plate it or else you with burn the roof of your mouth off with molten lava peanut butter.
I know this idea might seem a little odd for some if not all of you but give it a try with a nice bowl of chicken noodle soup and dip it into the soup just like you would with grilled cheese and tomato soup you will be pleasantly surprised that this pairing will blow you away.
